Arriving at Linwood House marks the beginning of a deeply restorative and rejuvenating journey. From personal relaxation and intimate gatherings to wellness-focused retreats, this guide offers comprehensive insights into everything you need to know to ensure your stay begins smoothly and comfortably.

Arrival and Check-In
Your experience at Linwood House begins the moment you arrive on our lush, forested property located just 15 minutes from Gibsons, Sechelt, and the Langdale ferry terminal. After driving through the serene Roberts Creek, you’ll find the private entrance to Linwood House clearly marked. Upon entering our driveway, you’ll instantly sense the tranquility that one guest affectionately describes as stepping into a “forest cathedral.”
Check-in at Linwood House typically begins at 4 PM unless pre-arranged otherwise. When you pull into our parking area, you can pull into our unloading area or park under the trees if you are staying in the Retreat Centre and in the gravel parking lot if you are staying in the Carriage House. If we are expecting you at a certain time, a warm welcome awaits you as our friendly staff greets you upon arrival to provide an orientation of the property, ensuring you feel immediately at home.
During your personalized welcome tour, you’ll receive essential information about your accommodations, along with a helpful overview of Linwood’s amenities, property layout, and important details about the space in relation to your intended use for it.

Settling into Your Accommodations
Linwood House offers two distinctive accommodation options designed to meet various needs and preferences:
The Retreat Centre: Our Victorian-style manor is the heart of Linwood House, featuring seven beautifully appointed bedrooms that comfortably accommodate up to ten guests. Each room has been thoughtfully decorated with calming aesthetics, comfortable bedding, hotel quality linens, and personalized touches that make you feel at home.
Common areas include a spacious Great Room, ideal for socializing, quiet reflection, or simply enjoying a book by the fire. You’ll also discover our dedicated coffee and tea bar, complete with a super-automatic espresso machine, ensuring your favorite beverage is always available. The Great Room is also typically where meals are served.
The Great Room is directly connected to our outdoor patio, which connects guests directly to our gardens and the surrounding forest.
The 1200 sq ft yoga and meditation studio in the Retreat Centre is designed to foster relaxation, movement, and mindful gatherings. Equipped with yoga mats, meditation cushions, and tranquil lighting, it provides a serene space to unwind and connect deeply with yourself or your group.
Our catering kitchen is reserved for chefs and caterers, unless alternative arrangements have been made. The catering kitchen features two ovens, three dishwashers, and a six burner gas stove. We stock nearly every kind of implement and cookware a caterer typically needs, as well as plenty of space to use it.
In terms of lighter meals and snacks, the retreat centre does include a kitchenette that features a full fridge, toaster oven/air fryer, microwave, hotplate, kettle, and coffee area.
The Carriage House: Inspired by Whistler’s classic post-and-beam architecture, our Carriage House offers deluxe accommodation with four spacious bedrooms, comfortably sleeping up to five guests. This space features a fully-equipped kitchen, a spa room with sauna, a spacious patio with BBQ facilities, a tranquil pond area, and direct access to our private trail system. Guests staying here often enjoy the independence, luxury, and connection to nature that this charming house provides.
Both spaces are meticulously prepared and warmly presented to ensure your comfort from the moment you settle in.
