A Room for Every Retreat: Bedrooms at Linwood House

The Linwood House Guide

By Bailey Creative

At Linwood House, the bedrooms aren’t just places to sleep — they’re little sanctuaries. Each one has its own personality, and together they create a home base where guests can rest, recharge, and feel truly cared for. When people visit us for the first time, they often remark on how peaceful the space feels. Some call it a “forest cathedral.” Others remark on the positive energy, almost palpable when you exit your vehicle and breathe in your surroundings. That sense of calm extends right into the rooms themselves, where you’ll find forest views, soft linens, and quiet corners to slow down and just exhale.

This is your guide to every bedroom on the property — so you can imagine where you or your group might be most at home.

The Retreat Centre

The Retreat Centre is the heart of Linwood House. Guests gather in the soaring Great Room with its vaulted ceilings and stone hearth, or exercise, meditate, or play in our 1200 square foot yoga studio on the third floor. The residential quarters in the Retreat Centre are split in to two areas: the second floor with five bedrooms, and the garden suite wing with two. Each room is designed simply but thoughtfully, blending comfort with the sense that you’re tucked right into our forested gardens.

The Forest Bathing Room

The Forest Bathing Room

This is perhaps our most distinctive room, with a large soaker tub inset in a bay window overlooking the Retreat Centre grounds and surrounding forest. A queen bed and views to the south and west make this a favourite for those who love to unwind in style.

The Pink Room

The Garden Suite

Connected to the Retreat Centre but with its own private entrance, the Garden Suite feels like a retreat within a retreat. It’s self-contained, with a kitchen and living area, and is often used by facilitators or those who like a little more independence.

The Garden Suite: Bedroom 1 – Queen

Bedroom 1 – Queen

A cozy space located in the heart of the Garden Suite. Mornings here feel magical when the mist hangs in the trees. Because it is located it a self-enclosed suite, this is typically where the retreat teacher or organizer stay.

The Garden Suite: Bedroom 2 – Queen

Bedroom 2 – Queen

Quiet and private, this room is another restful spot with its own window overlooking the great room patio into the forest. This is typically where the assistant to the teacher or organizer stay.

The Carriage House

The Carriage House has a different character — more like a Whistler-style post-and-beam cabin. It’s warm, woodsy, and often popular with families or smaller groups. There’s a full kitchen, a sauna, and a patio overlooking the pond.

Loft – Queen + Single

Open-concept, with exposed beams and lots of character. Kids love the adventure of staying up here, and an ensuite bathroom make it easy for everyone else to love the space too.

Bedroom 1 – Queen (Main Floor)

Simple, cozy, and easily accessible — perfect if you’d rather not climb stairs. The windows overlook the brook and pond down into the forest.

Bedroom 2 – Double + Single

A versatile room for siblings or friends, just steps away from the sauna and a few short steps from the kitchen.

What Ties It All Together

No matter which room you stay in, the experience is the same: soft linens, supportive beds, windows that open to the forest, and the feeling of being cared for. We prepare every room personally before your arrival, with the small touches that let you know we’re thinking about your comfort.

Closing Thought

A stay at Linwood House is about more than where you sleep — it’s about how you feel while you’re here. Whether you’re coming for a retreat, a family gathering, or just some quiet time away, there’s a room that will feel like it was waiting just for you.
